1. 50 Things to See on the Moon: A first-time stargazer's guide by John A Read
This book was written by an astronomer! He shares so many cool things you could see on the moon, including lunar phases. |
2. The Faces, Err Phases, of the Moon - Astronomy Book for Kids by Baby Professor
This book is available on Amazon and the public library. It's written for middle schoolers and focuses all about the phases of the moon - I mean faces! Think of the moon as having a face while you read this and consider how much of the face you see in each phase. |
3. The Moon Changes Shape (Tell Me Why) by Kathryn Beaton
This book is so cool because it is told like a story with characters and dialogue! Plus it's only 24 pages long. Check out if you think like these characters. |
4. Faces of the Moon by Bob Crelin
This book is available on Hoopla, but it is not available on Kindle. Don't forget that you can also find this in our school library though! |
5. Moon: Earth's Satellite by Julie Lundgren
Do you hate reading textbooks? Then, you will love this book! This is a simple, 24 page book, that doesn't have a ton of text on each page. You will learn so much about the moon, and of course, all about the phases. |
6. Luna Lucy by Lisa Van Der Wielen
I love this book because it is a short picture book. It's a quick read where you follow Luna and her dog while they explore the phases of the moon! Oh, and this book is an audiobook on Hoopla! |
7. Next Time You See the Moon by Emily Morgan
Check out this book to understand the shapes of the moon and how they relate to the phases of the moon. After reading this, consider the phase of the moon the next time you look! Note that this book is not available on Hoopla. |
8. The Moon Book by Gail Gibbons
While this book isn't available on Kindle, it is in our library and the public library's Hoopla as a video! So cool! This book reminds me of a graphic novel, so I really think you will enjoy learning about the moon and what causes the phases. |
9. I Am the Moon by Rebecca McDonald
This book is told from the perspective of the moon - cool right? The moon explains why it is the way it is, why we can only see part of him in the sky, and how to identify his phases. This book is not available on Hoopla unfortunately. |
10. Learn About the Sun, Moon, Planets, and Stars
This book is an ebook available on the World Book Reader through UDLibSearch. Remember that you will need the login information in order to access this book. This book will allow you to zoom in on the text, highlight, and take notes too! |
